Hertfordshire Gardens Trust is an organisation making a difference to the protection and conservation of the county’s historic environment and helping more of our schools to garden. Our achievements include:-
- research and survey of historic parks and gardens in the east, west and mid-Hertfordshire leading to five publications
- guidance, technical support and funding for over 160 schools to help them develop and sustain their grounds
- setting up a professionally trained conservation team to work alongside English Heritage and the Garden History Society giving timely, relevant and comprehensive advice on the preservation of all our historic parks and gardens and identifying the significance of sites for inclusion on English Heritage’s Register of Parks and Gardens of special historic interest
